QWAK,Found a deal on some nice surplus military boxes at a good price. From the dementions I think they would hold about 500 SILVER ROUNDS in tubes. Any way I ordered a fiew and perhaps others would find them usefull too.

QWAK,Depending on size and version they could be very good BIBLE storage and protection boxes! :eek: Every "bible thumper" should have at least ONE and the deal is for TWO at a reasnable price! Buy ONE get on free for a friend to protect his BIBLE too, a thoughtfull gift! :proud:

QWAK,Rocket boxes will hold about 1500 rounds+ but are even harder to move! What is your point? A good strong box that will securely hold 500 both for storage and transportation I see as preferable.:proud:

If the wrong people KNOW and FIND your stash being HEAVIER aint going to keep them from taking it!:withstupi

When I need to move or relocate it, WHY make it harder than need be?:confused: :D

I got a smaller French Red Cross box a few weeks ago from Franks surplus . He doesn't have any more right now, but that link will take you to one of his ebay auctions for an IRON DUCK BAG.

Apparently their is a company called 'Iron Duck' that makes bags. Thought you would like to see the link.

And Frank has all sorts of stuff for sale over ebay.

Oh, and I picked up several clean, empty one gallon paint cans with no labels on them. So you could fill them up with whatever suits your fancy and bury them. Or slap a used paint can label on it and put it in the bottom of a box with numerous other used paint cans that have a little paint in them. One or two should be about half full or so, to give the feeling of weight. Few crooks will go to the trouble of shuffling through a case or two of used paint.

QWAK,wallew,For in side the paint cans would be fine but would likely rust out if burried rather quickly:albertein .

My boxes should arive thursday after noon so I will let you know how good or bad I think they would be for storing smaller amounts of SILVER.:albertein

The large boxes I ordered are REALY BIG and weigh 45 Lb. EMPTY! I would guess they could hold about 10,000 SILVER rounds and ARE air and water tight but loaded would take a fork lift to move!:hahaha:

I have a large asortment of surplus military boxes mostly from ammunition and medical suplies my bigist problem is remembering what I put in each box! LOL I realy NEED to come up with a consistent labeling system it can often take an hour or more opening boxes because I know IT is there in one of them!:hahaha: :tongue: :banana:

Perhaps that "IRON DUCK" company is similar to the "BRASS MONKEY" company? :offtopic: :ARMS1:

QWAK,Got my boxes and for just 9 FRNs each, they are a great deal! I am shure each will hold 500 rounds perhaps more and they are AIR and WATER tight with gasket and 4 spring loaded latches,also a good strong handle and 4 small triangle tie down or clip rings.
:hahaha: Inside is FREEBIES TOO!:albertein There is an aluminum pan with handles and a rack that sits in the bottom of the box and will hold the pan up in the air. It was likely for staralising sergical tools is my best guess but I am shure I will find the pans and racks usefull in some way.

For under $10.00 it is a great way to store and transport 500 SILVER rounds! For less than the price of 1 silver round I think it is a GREAT DEAL!:applause_ :proud: :clap2:

A couple were a little dinged up but I believe that happened in shiping ans was easaly fixed.

QWAK,demosfen,I like things ORGANISED,I like havein things boxed up and protected so that when I need somthing I can fine it and it will be in good condition.

As for thease boxes, IF you have ever had to MOVE a bunch of SILVER around 500 rounds is a convenient size and weight,they can STACK and take up minimal space yet if you need to relocate they can easaly be packed in a trunk of a car etc.

As for the "garbage" freebies ----- it is THAT only for an UNCREATIVE and WAISTFULL person! "Waist NOT -- WANT NOT!" The DISPOSABLE reality we have been living is going to CHANGE and SOON so don't be so quick to throw things away that you may NEED some day! Just because you got it FREE don't make IT WORTHLESS! People realy NEED to adjust their thinking!

Ah Mr. Duck,

I was talking about the 50 cal ammo boxes. Even full a duck should be able to balance himself by carrying 2 at a time. I should doubt that one could fit more coins in one than one could lift.

I will likely find similar deals and will post them when I do.

The 50 Cal. boxes are avalable almost every ware cheep and will do the same and hold more they are just much heavier and do not stack as nicely.

The PVC pipes also works well but may be mistaken for a PIPE BOMB and could have the BOMB SQUAD all excited should some one discover them.

What a HORABLE THOUGHT!!! Imagin the BOMB SQUAD blowing up your SILVER and GOLD stash --- broad cast on the evening news ---- it's almost too AWFULL to think about! LOL :afraid:

I was going to pick up a bunch of these but I hesitated and lost my chance. Seems to happen a lot with me and SG. Hopefully I will learn my lesson.

only 5.99 but shipping is expensive so I ended up buying 8 of them to spread out the cost of shipping. I already had a few of these so now I have all the same. They are still in transit so I hope they are in the same condition as the picture.

Another carry/stache idea that works.
Schd.40 PVC 4" in 2' lengths/end caps and screwcaps properly glued.
Easy burial with a post hole digger or a little rope handle for transport.

QWAK,demosfen, You may be over looking a valuable INVESTMENT posability in DUMPSTERS ----- after TSHTF they will be much sought after as HOUSING for displaced people! They are STRONG,water proof and because they often are on wheels, MOBILE! :hahaha:

DUMPSTERS may well be the HOME of the FUTURE for many who today are up to their EYEBALLS in DEBT and think they OWN the stuff they GOT but can NOT pay off!:tongue:

Actualy I am concidering buying some surpluss shiping containers, IF they can get them in to me and put them ware I want them!

For the price they are a much better DEAL and will last far longer than the chip board storage buildings at LOWS or the other BIG BOX CHINA stores. A 20' one would make a nice storage shed for equipment and a 40' a good work shop! If worse came to worse they could even be HOUSING!

On another GOLD BOARD one of the posters clames to LIVE in a REFERBISHED DUMPSTER and that is what got me GOING!:smile:

As for the other GOLD board,they are NOT as much FUN as here and VERY STRICT,they will kick you out in a heart beat if you fool around BUT they have some very knolagable GOLD and SILVER posters!
